چکیده

The domination polynomial of a graph G of order n is the polynomial D(G, x) = Pn i=γ(G) d(G, i)x , where d(G, i) is the number of dominating sets of G of size i, and γ(G) is the domination number of G. In this paper, we obtain some properties of the coefficients of D(G, x). Also, by study of the dominating sets and the domination polynomials of specific graphs denoted by G′(m), we obtain a relationship between the domination polynomial of graphs containing an induced path of length at least three, and the domination polynomial of related graphs obtained by replacing the path by shorter path. As examples of graphs G′(m), we study the dominating sets and domination polynomials of cycles and generalized theta graphs. Finally, we show that, if n ≡ 0, 2(mod 3) and D(G, x) = D(Cn, x), then G = Cn.

Dominating Sets and Domination Polynomials of Paths

Let G V, E be a simple graph. A set S ⊆ V is a dominating set of G, if every vertex in V \S is adjacent to at least one vertex in S. Using this recursive formula, we consider the polynomialD Pn, x ∑n i n/3 d Pn, i x ...

On the domination polynomials of non P4-free graphs

A graph $G$ is called $P_4$-free, if $G$ does not contain an induced subgraph $P_4$. The domination polynomial of a graph $G$ of order $n$ is the polynomial $D(G,x)=sum_{i=1}^{n} d(G,i) x^{i}$, where $d(G,i)$ is the number of dominating sets of $G$ of size $i$. Every root of $D(G,x)$ is called a domination root of $G$. In this paper we state and prove formula for the domination polynomial of no...

Some Families of Graphs whose Domination Polynomials are Unimodal

Let $G$ be a simple graph of order $n$. The domination polynomial of $G$ is the polynomial $D(G, x)=sum_{i=gamma(G)}^{n} d(G,i) x^{i}$, where $d(G,i)$ is the number of dominating sets of $G$ of size $i$ and $gamma(G)$ is the domination number of $G$. In this paper we present some families of graphs whose domination polynomials are unimodal.

TOTAL DOMINATION POLYNOMIAL OF GRAPHS FROM PRIMARY SUBGRAPHS

Let $G = (V, E)$ be a simple graph of order $n$. The total dominating set is a subset $D$ of $V$ that every vertex of $V$ is adjacent to some vertices of $D$. The total domination number of $G$ is equal to minimum cardinality of total dominating set in $G$ and denoted by $gamma_t(G)$. The total domination polynomial of $G$ is the polynomial $D_t(G,x)=sum d_t(G,i)$, where $d_t(G,i)$ is the numbe...

Polynomial of a Graph

We introduce a domination polynomial of a graph G. The domination polynomial of a graph G of order n is the polynomial D(G, x) = ∑n i=γ(G) d(G, i)x , where d(G, i) is the number of dominating sets of G of size i, and γ(G) is the domination number of G. We obtain some properties of D(G, x) and its coefficients. Also we compute this polynomial for some specific graphs.
